What does it mean to occupy a body in space? I look at people to understand who we are, how we got here, and consider where we are going. Although I paint people, my work is not about individuals. I look at the weight of a sitter’s presence in discourse with his or her setting, and essay to capture the self as viewed and interpreted, and the self as viewer and observer.
